When Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, it was without his E Street Band. But the group may finally get its due — they’ve become the first group ever nominated for induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

Also among the 50 nominees announced today are actors Alan Alda, Christopher Reeve and Michael Douglas, and fellow music acts Celia Cruz, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Dizzy Gillespie and Sarah Vaughn.
